FAQs about sex therapy

  • Sex therapy is specialized talk therapy with someone who has specialized training and education in sex and sexuality. Yes, we mostly sit and chat about whatever's going on with your sex life, relationships, or identity. But unlike venting to a friend, I use evidence-based approaches to help you work through whatever challenges you’re facing. No weird exercises, no taking your clothes off—just honest conversations, processing, and skill-building in a judgment-free space.

  • Sex therapy can help you feel way less alone and way more confident about your sexuality. Whether you're dealing with trauma, trying to figure out your identity, wanting better relationships, or just curious about exploring something new, therapy gives you a safe space to work through it all. Plus, you get to talk to someone who literally went to school to learn about sex, so no topic is too weird or embarrassing.

  • I work with LGBTQ+ folks dealing with coming out, sexual shame, religious trauma, and identity exploration. I also support people healing from sexual trauma, struggling with dating and relationships, or feeling stuck in their sex lives. Basically, if it's related to sex, sexuality, gender, or relationships, and you're feeling confused, ashamed, or just want someone to talk to—that's my jam.

  • I'm all about keeping it real and meeting you where you're at. I use whatever approach makes sense for you—sometimes that's CBT, sometimes it's just processing feelings, sometimes it's education. I'm queer myself, so I get what it's like to navigate the world as an LGBTQ+ person. My goal is to create a space where you can be completely yourself without fear of judgment.

  • Lots of the people I work with feel nervous at first (totally normal!) but also relieved to finally have someone to talk to about this stuff. We'll start by figuring out what you want to work on, then dive into whatever feels most important. Some sessions might be heavy, some might be educational, some might just be you venting about dating apps. The process is different for everyone, but my goal is to help you feel totally supported through the whole process.

  • If you're queer or questioning, dealing with sexual shame or trauma, or just want a therapist who won't clutch their pearls when you talk about sex, we're probably a good match. I work with folks who are ready to dig into their stuff and make changes so you can start having the sex life you want.

  • Easy: just book a free vibe check with me! We'll chat for about 15 minutes about what's going on and see if we click. If we do, we'll schedule your first session. If not, no worries—I've got other therapists I can refer you to. The hardest part is reaching out, and you're already thinking about it, so you're basically halfway there.
